This beautiful commercial filmed by Stonecastle Pictures highlighted some incredible stories between doctors and patients from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I was fortunate to be on set shooting stills 4 days in a row, and was even granted access into the operating room during a life saving kidney transplant.

”John Brown has been a fantastic creative partner for us here at Stonecastle. He’s the kind of thoughtful photographer who has an undeniably terrific eye but also understands how to work collaboratively with our customers: always bringing great ideas and coming up with solutions that fit their specific needs. That’s a rare quality and one that separates the amateurs from the pros. John is a pro.”

I took these photos alongside a documentary being filmed by Stonecastle Pictures about this old school building’s history for The Heritage Foundation.
“According to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Rosenwald schools were the result of a 1912 partnership between ex-slave and Tuskegee Institute graduate Booker T. Washington and Julius Rosenwald, CEO of Sears, Roebuck and Company. This initiative led to the construction of more than 3,500 schools, shops and teacher homes between 1917 and 1932 that would serve rural African-American children and their communities.”
Being able to sit and listen to these wonderful people share their stories was truly a blessing, and something I’ll never forget.
The Heritage Foundation is planning to move the building and restore it in downtown Franklin so that future generations may hear these stories that may have otherwise been lost to time.
Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm. They shut down annually on August 1rst so team members across the firm can come together and serve the communities where they live and work. I traveled to Washington D.C. to document as team members volunteered on a non-profit farm that benefits multiple soup kitchens and homeless shelters with fresh grown produce. It was a beautifully hot day, and a wonderful experience being there.
I was the exclusive photographer for Barista Parlor from 2017-2018. Some of my work was published in People Magazine and British Airways online.
“Nearly 1 in 6 Nashville residents live in poverty, amidst the lowest minimum wage in the country. Even people working full time can't rise above the poverty line.
We create an environment for self-sufficiency by connecting unemployed and underemployed individuals with training, education and mentorships that results in the ability to earn a living wage starting at $14 or more per hour.
UpRise is a career development program for Nashville adults who are ready to start a new educational path and improve their financial condition.”
I was honored to photograph these wonderful people on their graduation day from the UpRise program, alongside Stonecastle Pictures on a video project. These people all had some amazing stories and worked so hard to reach this day.
I worked on the “RAM Trucks | Prove It” campaign showcasing the new RAM 1500 and Rebel.
